crossfire eyefinity

looking to run crossfire and eyefinity on my new build, however the monitors I have picked only have analogue and dvi inputs, no hdmi

will I be able to run all three off dvi (with an active adaptor ofcourse)

ie one dvi and the adaptor connected to card one, and dvi to the second card?

or will all three run off the one card as in ... 2 dvi connections and the adaptor?

I believe that all 3 monitors must be plugged into one card, thus needing DP or the active display adaptor.
HOWEVER, I have two 5770's and three monitors, I'll test it for you, swapping out my DP for a DVI.

hey. i believe it works like this:
DVI 1st monitor
DVI or HDMI 2nd monitor
DP 3rd monitor
or a mixture, but u know what i mean xD
So yes, you can run using both DVI ports, you dont need to use the HDMI port =]

superb thanks for that, saves having to get an HDMI to DVI convertor ontop

just need the displayport adaptor to come in stock now lol

Erm, the displayport adapters are silly money, why not just use a cheap DVI-HDMI adapter?

DVI-HDMI is far easier as the video signals are effectively the same, HDMI basically just adds audio on top. Displayport is a totally different standard and thus the adapters are actually more convertors with a lot of circuitry in them and thus cost a bomb.

You can get a HDMI(male) to DVI(female) adapter for about a fiver. Plug this into the HDMI port on the card and then use a standard DVI-DVI cable.
