crossfire help please

Hi all - just a quick question when crossfiring do i need 2 of the adaptors/cables from one card to another or is it just 1 ?

im only asking because the latest xfx 5770 card i have just received has one slot the same as my older card but the second is a lot longer and will not fit the adaptor/cable ? ( wider plug is on the right of the card )

so basically my 2 cards are like this

---- ---------- <------- this is the new card

i hope you can understand what im trying to say .

ok thanks for that - but how do you explain that on the newer card one bridge is a lot wider than my original one ( both are the same card ) and bought within only a few weeks of each other ?

i just cant understand why they would be different ?

no exactly the same model ( checked that on the box from OC ) - as i said the older of the two was purchased only 4 weeks ago & they are a match apart from the diff size bridges / also noticed on the monitor sockets , the older ones are black on the newest card they are red ? dunno if that means anything
