hi there i've just built my new rig, and after running 3dmarks 06 im only getting 14k on it. i feel like the second graphics card isnt working, is there any program that can tell me for sure.

my system spec is in my sig - does my score seem low to anyone els?

What s the breakdown of the score. If your running stock speed on the E8400, that may be right as 14000 is too great for single 3870 GPU. I Get 14200 or so with a single GTX and Q6600 at 3.8Ghz in Vista64.

Go to the Catalyst Control Centre and see if CrossFire is ticked. As Gurusan said though GPU-Z is the easiest and quickest way to check.

ok after downloading techpowerup - its seems that my crossfire is disable, but its enabled in my CCC.
Any idea why its not working?

Have you overclocked that CPU?
I think crossfire is working, if you're really in doubt (for whatever reason) then take a card out and bench again.

Really need a new graphics benchmark soon, one that somehow gives a comparible result regardless of the CPU.

Using Vista 64bit by any chance? GPUz doesn't seem to show Crossfire as enabled even when it really is. Overclock your cpu and see what happens to your score, Crossfire setups are hungry for cpu power.

gpu-z doesnt always shows crossfire is enabled

in my setup gpu-z shows it as disabled but it is enabled

check everest:

SM 2.0 Score 6334 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 7828 Marks

yeah thats crossfire enabled

disable crossfire and then run 3d mark ;)

ok thanks guys i've got it working now. But now im having a problem with 8gb ram. its seems theres a IRQ conflict issue?!

No the computer was only using one card - vista disabled the other one?! Thats MS for you.

But i just cant seem to BSOD when im using crossfire and 8gb of ram now. I cant seem to figure out why.

have you tried running memtest on your memory?

upping the vdimm / n-b up a notch?

which motherboard bios are you using?

..............................................

back on the crossifre, how did you solve your issues, whats your new 06 compare link / scores ;), gpu-z showing enabled or disabled?

...might be some help to others with problems :)

I've run memtest - and its all clear, no problems.
The strange thing is it will work sometimes boot into windows and be fine, other times it doesnt - i haven't upped the volts yet, as my NB is running at 45c all stock. I think it does need a boost, so i'll be trying a little increase in a sec.

Im using the beta 907 bios at the moment

--------------------

Well after a complete reinstall, with the crossfire bridge in place during the installation, just the basic programs installed so far motherboard (CD drivers installed - i need to up date these), and the latest CCC drivers.
I've enabled crossfire just using CCC and its confirmed in everest.
Well i dont have the compare link, since my computer crashed a few minutes after i run 3dmarks but they were at 16,000 (at all stock speeds). Once i've got this problem with the ram issue sorted i'll get the compare link up.

IFY i've been reading on other forums that there's problems with 8gb's and ATI cards, and i think thats something which is out of my control. When i did have everything working for a bit, i managed to overclock my graphics card to 860 core and 1131 memory on both cards. (ati auto-tuner put the core to 875)

I've taken the BFG phyis card out at the moment, just to see what the graphics cards are doing by themselves.
My computer is far from efficent at the moment - i've changed nothing in bios at all.

good good, look forward to your results, 16k seems pretty high for everything at stock, did you see what gpu-z shows?

i managed to overclock my graphics card to 860 core and 1131 memory on both cards

whats your default clocks?

Oh sorry i forgot to answer that - it still shows as disable i believe that is a software issue with gpu-z.

My default clock is 800/1125.

Just an update, im still getting an unstable system - BSOD is telling me something like atiXXX is the problem (its disappears too fast for me to see). Sounds like i may just have to wait for driver fixes :(

With 2gb's of ram my system is stable, but my score drops to 14.5k - still going to play around with a few things at stock to see if i can get any better.
It maybe something is 3dmarks is reporting wrong, since it doesnt make any sense why more ram boosts the score so much.
