Hi

Ive not so long bought a 1900 xtx to along with my 1900 master card and ive put them in to crossfire mode in the catalyst menu and everytime i start a game the picture on my monitor keeps flashing on and off.

I have a e6700 at stock speed, a gigabyte dq6, 2 gig corsiar, and a sony E96D.
Any help would greatly be appresiated.

thank you

The only thing i can think of is that something is happening with the refresh rate. This happens when u set the desktop to higher res than it can hand, fortunately this corrects itself after you don’t click yes to save.

I Would power off and disconnect and reconnect the external crossfire cable, make sure it is seated perfectly,if you still have problems try the other dvi port on your slave card,on mine crossfire only works on the 2nd port.

Uninstall and reinstall drivers, use driver cleaner for a good clean re-install.

Also if you are using cat 6.11's try going back to 6.10's,this is only a stab in the dark but the new cats have implemented crossfire control into the driver itself now,so I suppose there is a possibility this could be conflicting with the old master and slave method you are using.

Insufficient power could also cause problems, make sure your psu has sufficient juice on the 12v rail or rails.

I Have seen this with 1950xtx crossfire...a few flashes before the Games start, It's not a problem The 6.11 drivers seem to reduce this

I had this when I installed my system, The instructions showed the cable comming out the main card and going into the second DVI driectly below.
This turned out to be wrong and had to use the other port :)
My ones are HIS... other makes might be different.

Thanks for the help guys ive managed to get working stable with all my games now, i just uninstalled my 6.10 drivers and installed the 6.11 ones and reseated my cable thanks for your help :)
