I recently picked up 2 Radeon 6870s and have had intermittent problems with them in Crossfire; I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone has or similar experiences.
Specifically, when Crossfire is enabled, I get a flickering orange colouration on the screen; sometimes bands like texture tearing, and sometimes more solid. I've tried running each card individually and swapping them across PCI-E slots, and they seem to be fine, running DX11 titles and benches without any issues. When Crossfire is enabled, however, I get the problem described. Somehow, it went away for several days and I initially thought it was a bad HDMI cable, of all things - swapping the cable seemed to fix it. However it's back, and I'm on the verge of a reformat to see if that will cure it - since the cards are OK individually, and it did go away, I reckon it could be software.
Specs :
i5 2500K (problem is at both stock and overclocked)
8gb DDR3-1600
Crucial M4 128GB
2x Sapphire Radeon 6870s (I've tried older drivers too)
Akasa 850W SLi/Crossfire certified PSU.
Win7 up to date.
Monitor is a Samsung LE37B550A 37" LCD TV (1080p)
Happy to post other info if needed
