Crossfire making my loading times in games longer??

I did have a crossfire setup, recently just sent back one of my cards (XFX 6870) because it was crashing my drivers and getting stuck at 99% load idle. But I noticed after setting up crossfire it took a lot longer to load games, I was comparing it with a mate over teamspeak. Anyway since I've taken the card out my games load a lot faster now.. and there is hardly any difference in fps to be honest. Faulty card most probs.
 
i had that too, when i had 6870 cf, my shogun 2 would take longer to load the maps during mp. when i took my card out it loaded faster. though the fps boost was very noticeable. are you sure you dont have vsync on?
 
now my 6950 2nd card was doing that, it was software, I think they may say it was fine if it was anything like my situation
