I have recently purchased a 512mb HIS Radeon X1650 Pro PCI-e card however i cannot decide on the best motherboard to use with it and was looking for some advice, im looking at spending around £100 on the mobo.

Im using a AMD Athlon 64 4600+ Socket 939 and 1GB ddr 400 RAM i currently have an AGP mobo the Abit Av8-3rd eye which has been an excellent mobo.

Any help?

Thanks in advance

not that up on SATA to be honest. i bought the sata drive about a year ago. Is SATA II a new fandangled thing?

Its just a faster version, but your drive needs to support SATA-II to be able to use it, so you'll be fine with normal SATA support.

one other thing if im not bothered about using a crossfire setup can i just use any PCI-e mobo? Provided its a socket 939

Tried reading into all this but the more i read the more confusing it gets

Yeah if crossfire isn't important any PCI-E board will be fine. But even then the DFI would still be top of my list, its fantastic value.

Ordered the DFI and an arctic cooling freezer 64. might spend what im saving on some more RAM.
