So after my GTX 760 went, I stuck my 'backup' HD7850 into my rig until I had decided upon a replacement card. I am now thinking that I WILL wait for the AMD 3xx range and in the meantime, have thought about dropping ~£50 on another HD7850.

I've never Crossfire'd or SLI'd before, so as a fun test (and stop-gap until the new cards) I thought it'd be worth a punt.

Question is as follows - is the lack of gap between my 2 x PCIe slots gonna cause a MASSIVE issue, temperature-wise? My FT04 has good cooling and the cards are not worth a fortune, so do I just go for it?

I would say no and this is because I had two 7950s very close to each other and they was perfectly fine. The 7000 series was very good with heat or was this just the xfx cooler was very good.

Thanks Shankly - to confirm... "no, it WOULDN'T be a problem"?

I can't guarantee that it will be fine.. But I believe they shouldn't be an issue.

I wouldn't want you buying it only to find out its throttling due to not enough air to the cooler.

Do you have side fans on your case?

No, that's okay - I realise it's only an opinion :)

No side fan, just 2 x 180mm fans in front of case (and 1 x 120mm exhaust).
