Simple question really:
Should I go with my intended 2 x X1950 Pro's in Crossfire or:

Get 1 8800, or

Wait for ATI's DX10 offering?

I've got 1 X1950 Pro in and working but I can send the unused one back.

Single 8 series card will decimate 2x x1950pro's in crossfire, and thats in Dx9, Dx10 is just an added bonus, get the 8800. :)

send the unused one back and get a refund, then save up for r600 release and see what ATi have to offer and check the prices of the 8800 aswell at that time...
a x1950pro will hold you until then...

We've got a lot of cards coming out soon. R600, R610 and R630 from ATI and the 8800GTS Rev. 2, 8600Ultra and 8600GT from Nvidia.

I would hang on for a bit, save up, and see what takes your fancy. They will all be DirectX 10 too.

If you must have a card now, then it has to be a GTS or GTX.

If you are prepared to wait, then it might be a good idea to see where the dust settles after the March/April launches.

Think I'll hang on to the one X1950, seems to play NFS Carbon fine.
I'm reading with interest about using a second card as a physics card, so if this is possible I may keep the X1950 for that purpose whin the new ATI DX10 cards come out.
??

Are there any other details circulating with regards to the R6xx series? And are we looking at the possibilty of a March eta?

I don't have a clue personally, but from what I see floating around on this board I'm guessing it will be March/April.

im waiting for ati's shot at a dx10 card and if its as good as they say its gonna be then the 8800 stands no chance at the ati r600 core.

allso i just got my conroe rig and a crossfire board so im hoping the ati dx10 card will be best of the best. and cross fire two of them ;)
