Is it worth it? Looking at crossfiring 5850.

Asus P8P67 LE Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge)

Can someone clarify for me whether it will work and worth it with my mobo? I understand you need a certain speed of PCI slot for it to be worth it and cant tell what i have exactly, 1 slot is def 16x, but the other slot says 16x but (4x) in brackets?

Second question, i have a 5850 im assuming reference 1, as it bought it when it was released, would one of the newer models 5850 work with it in crossfire? They seem to have different connections on the back and coolers etc

thanks guys

Not sure but i think in crossfore the pci slots will run 8x 8x which would be fine but im not really to clued up on sb boards, and you can mix models of 5850 so the ones on offer at the mo would be fine

It will run at 16x/4x.

So you'll see a performance hit of about 5% from 16x/16x.

It's not ideal but there won't be a massive impact.
