I currently have a Sapphire X800 GTO² graphics card with the x850xt mod, i have order a new motherboard which has dual pci express slots and is crossfire compatiable, would it be worth my while getting another card the same as mine, or selling my and buying a new card, i only really play BF2 on a 17" widescreen mointer

thanks

X800 and X850 are rubbish at crossfire, *** chip only can support up to 1600x1200 at 65hz which is just rubbish.

Get either a X1950 Pro, X1900XT IceQ 512Mb or a X1950XTX :)

you should read his original post more carefully. he did mention that he uses a 17inch widescreen monitor which i doubt would run up to 1600x1200

Id get anotehr single card like the x1950pro to, x8 series are rubbish for crossfire as CC said above, they can only do 16x12 and are stuck at 60hz, absolutely pointless going Crossfire on the x8 series, 1x x1950 would probably whoop them. :)

thanks guys, in two minds anout what to do, whether to get a nice new mointer 20"+ and wait for dx10 to get a new card or get a x1950pro now

I would go for the x1950pro since there wont be much games supporting dx10 anytime soon :X

I'm prob wrong ;D

Nope, DX10 looks like DX9, will do for about a year, DX10 games run on DX9 cards under XP, and look the same, get an x1950pro now, then further down the line get another one for Crossfire, will cut through everything in their wake until DX10 is actually worth having, or if you do want a DX10 card, wait a couple of weeks for the G80 price to drop, as its going to be £500 at the start due to it being limited availability, couple of weeks its gona be less than that i bet. :)
