Afternoon folks,

As per the title I'm wondering if the above is possible as people have told me you can have either one or the other due to something to do with the pci express lanes being x16.

I'm not really sure what the reasoning is for the above but I thought the only thing I needed to look out for was if I would have enough space on the motherboard due to the fans, or the space in the actual case.

Could anyone please confirm if the above is correct as I've only read about it from a few google searches and the threads were all about a year old.

Thanks

It sure is possible. You can have multiple GPU (xfire or SLi) and still use a pci or pci-e soundcard. Only issue may be spacing as you mentioned but normally not a problem.

This is the motherboard I was looking at and the MSI GE 290 is the card that I want to crossfire, the soundcard I'm installing is the creative ZXR.
I was searching google to see if that motherboard would give me enough space to have all 3 components installed and that's when I came across the above statement.
Can I ask if anyone has the above setup in a Corsair Carbide 540 case or would I need a bigger case?
