Crossfire problems

I have been using an xfx HD 4890 in my system for a long time without any problems. Today i got another HD 4890, though not with the same cooler it's still an xfx. I installed both cards and put one crossfire bridge on and updated the drivers.

Now whenever i run a game as soon as it starts rendering any 3d graphics the system crashes after about 5 seconds at most and i get the blue screen of death. I thought it might be a cooling problem but the cards are well spaced apart with good airflow and i even tried running them with the fan speed manually set at 100%.

I'm at a loss.

Any advice would be appreciated, thankss.

You shouldn't have any problems with that motherboard as it's crossfire certified.

The user manual indicates you should install the graphics cards in PCI_E1 (the top blue slot nearest the processor) and the other in PCI_E4 which is the third blue slot down (just above the post LED).

Is this how you have them installed?

On my motherboard, if I used crossfire, I need to put an additional 4pin molex connection into the board. Its located just above my PCI slots. Do you have something like this you need to connect but havent?
