Hi,
I finally bought a second 7950 to crossfire with my original one- plugged it in and it worked fine- I had the new card in the top PCI slot and plugged into my screens but the fan was particularly noisy (about 80% at 65 degrees) so I swapped the cards over to use my old card as the master.
Bad idea. After ****ing about for about two hours I now have my old card back in situ and the new one appears to be dead. It doesn't work in xfire or on its own.
Now with the benefit of hindsight should have just swapped the DVI cable to the old card, I've not xfire'd before so didn't think of it (don't know whether the master card is controlled by the PCI location or which card the monitor is connected to) but unplugging the cards and changing their positions shouldn't kill them...
Extremely frustrated- I have no way to troubleshoot as the screen does not switch on with the new card plugged in, either on it's own or in xfire. Doubt there is much help that anyone can give me but hope springs eternal!
