Curently have a 5770 in my current PC and I plan to upgrade my motherboard. As I already have on and they have come down to a cheap price I am thinking it may be an idea to get another one.

My question:

Do I need to have the exact same make and model of the 5770 or does it not matter?

I currently have a HIS version with only a single slot plate, even though the fan takes up two spaces.

Do I need to buy another HIS one the same or will any do such as the XFX one for £90?

What do you think to getting another one? I could sell the one I have and get a newer card but I probably won't get much for it second hand and the new card's are much more than me just buying another one of these...

just buy another 5770, as long as it's a reference model you have and you get another reference model you should be fine, just make sure your new board supports crossfire at least at 8x 8x
2 5770's out perform 5870 at some games so it is worth doing, especially if your pockets are not deep enough for a more expensive single card

It doesn't have to be the same brand, it'll work just fine with two cards made by different manufacturers.

I'd say go for it, it's a pretty good upgrade for £90. Any alternative upgrades will cost quite a bit more. Now is the time to strike as well, in a few months 5770's will be harder to get hold of, and you might have troubles getting one.
