Hi all,

I just got a nice shiny new HIS X1900XT Crossfire edition from OC.

In the future or whenever I'm going to be looking at getting an X1900XT 512Mb to boost it a bit.

Do I have to get another HIS card or can it be any make?

Yes you can mix, just need any X1900XT or XTX standard card.
You need a new motherboard too, Crossfire cards in Nforce SLI motherboard won't work.
 
I would'nt leave it to long as then you'll probably have to get another x1900 2nd hand as they aint produced anymore now that the x1950 is out, and the prices they are going for they are selling by the truck-load. :)

Don't worry, the current system is moving to be my server...I have to wait another month before I can get my shiny new Conroe/CrossFire system :)

But that's great news. I'm going to keep my eye out...not particularly bothered about it being brand new...I would get a new one now but need to sort my server out too.....1.2TB yum.
