I currently have a Sapphire 4850 512mb and was considering getting a new PowerColor HD 4850 PCS+ Edition 1GB, as I now have a 28" monitor, in Xfire.

Will these be compatible?
And will I see any benefit over a 512mb one, bearing in mind the price difference is so little.
Also would my spare Akasa Vortexx be ok on the powercolour one as I read that the memory heatsinks are near impossible to remove.

Cheers

Compatible, yes, but you'll see zero benefit over a 512MB one, if you crossfire them.

Crossfire needs two identical copies of VRAM, and as such, will only use the amount available to the least specced card, in this case 512MB on each card. You still only end up with a TOTAL of 512MB of texture memory (as you don't "add-up" memory totals in crossfire).

Ah!
Thanks for clearing that up.
