Crossfire Question

Hi,

I am currently putting together a new matx rig to be used for light video/music editing etc.

As part of the spec I am buying a DFI LanParty JR 790GX motherboard which has crossfire avaliable...

I am looking to power three monitors from this, and wanted to know the cheapest and best solution for the graphics. For instance, would it be an option to buy two low end ati cards from 4/5 series (like the 4350 etc) and crossfire them. Or could I just put two in a non crossfire mode and would they run three monitors?

but doesn't that need a displayport adaptor thingy??, two 5450s would cost me £80, then I could just have them in each PCI-E 16x slot with no crossfire?? and run three monitors from this, would it work like that?

i am not gaming at all, just for video editing and music editing and general usage etc, a little hd stuff, would this perform ok?

but would two 5450s provide me with a solution for three monitors using the DFI LanParty JR 790GX, the other reason I would prefer these is price and the fact they have passive coolers (trying to keep noise down) would they handle hd? is it ok having two gpus in one system without cf enabled?
