Hi there I have a quick question and couldn't really a definitive answer anywhere...

I recently bought a HD 7970 Vapor-x 3gb and i'm looking to crossfire it and on the sapphire website an 850 watt PSU is recommended but I have a 750 watt.

Will I have to buy an 850 watt psu before crossfiring or would my 750 watt psu be alright,

Thanks in advance.

Specs are currently
CPU: AMD FX-6200 OC'd to 4.2GHz
GPU: HD 7970 Vapor-x (@ clock speeds)
RAM: 4Gb Patriot Viper
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 v2
HDD: Some 500Gb
SSD: OCZ Agility 3 256Gb
Mobo: Gigabyte 970-UD3

I ran xfired 7970s for a couple of hours on an ocz 650w psu using molex to 6/8pin on the 2nd card
It ran fine, but I wouldn't overclock anything :D

As long as your 750w isn't crap, you should be ok. It does have 2 sets of pcie connectors, right?

Been running my rig on a 750W for a few months and it's been good as gold. Did pop one of those plug in wattage meters when I first got the second 7970 and I was pulling under 500W when running Prime95 and the Heaven bench together. Not sure I'd run Furmark for long though... :D
