Crossfire/SLI system? Worth it?

I spotted that both the OcUK x1950's can be Crossfired.

Would it be worth doing so? If not, why not? (what single card would be recommended?)

Also, suggestions for matching motherboards for both crossfire/SLI and a single card are welcome!

I wouldn't bother.. A single 8800GTS or GTX for the win..
