Crossfire Temperatures

Hello, I recently got a XFX 6950 to crossfire with my triple slot 6950. I have tried having the cards in two configurations, the first where the asus card was on top and the second where the xfx was at the top.

From this with the xfx on top, i got good readings as there was plenty of space between the cards but with the asus on top, i got a fair bit more performace out of the cards.

Idling the asus is at 45-50C while the bottom is 35C is that normal or should i think about the air flow in my case?

no this is perfectly normal...

the top card is directly above the bottom card which is giving off a lot of heat which the top cards fans are pulling in directly on to the heatsink as there is only a limited gap between the two cards.

nothing to worry about, if you want to lower the temps, add a fan onto the side of your case if you case has the appropriate side panel, or get a dremmel and a drill and make your own. It is simple enough to do

could also use MSI:AB to raise the fan speed on the top card a little to push more air onto the heatsink to lower the temps if you like

YEah its pretty normal, there is a less of a difference on mine but the top card definately always runs a few degree hotter then the bottom, and my cards are identical.

There is nearly 10c difference between mine one that sits on top is cooler and the one crammed inbetween that and my psu is hotter, you can manually adjust the fans if you like or just leave it, unless you are hitting insanely high temps of course.
