crossfire with 2 7870 different brands ?

can i say crossfire this with a
saphire 7870

or would i have to get the same model not too sure about this so wanted to ask and find out first

The short answer to your question is that you can Crossfire different brands/models of HD 7870.

Just make sure they have the same amount of VRAM.

It has to be a Pitcairn based card if you have a Pitcairn based card.

You can crossfire Tahiti 7870s with 7950s and 7970s.

You can crossfire a 7870XT with a Tahiti card? I suppose thats because of the Tahiti core then. Interesting didn't know that. Wonder how the different bus sizes would would handle high res/multi monitor.
