Crossfire with this board?

I've recently bought this

It's the start of many buys over the next few months as I gradually upgrade.
Although I've not decided on gfx yet, I've been following threads about the 2900 pros and success with crossfire.

Anyway, the jury's still out as I probably wont be buying for a month or so. I'm just a little concerned about a post I read about not getting the full potential of 2 cards like that with my mobo cos one slots 16x and the other is 4x.

Can anyone explain please?

Yes it'll work but you will experience a performance hit. If you want to do crossfire properly then get a X38 based board. The none Maximus versions on the ASUS board is a good bet and is not a whole lot more than that board.

Thanx mate, I'm prolly gonna go with one card anyway, I just couldnt understand what I'd read.
