Hi, My set up is quite old these days

q6600 @ 2.6
4gb DDR2
Asus pk5-e 2 x PCIe x16 (blue @ x16 mode, black @ x4 or x1 mode)
Ati 5770

So my question is....would it be worth my while getting an other 57xx card (can be aquired almost free these days) and running crossfire even at x4

Thanks for any help.

You'd be better off just selling the 5770 you have and getting a better single card.

What card for sub £100 then?

Also, if i got a 2nd card for free would it worth it over the singel 5770 @ x4?

get another 5770,a 5770 is basically half a 5870,so two in xfire will be equal or slightly better than one 5870 or 6870 as they are the same performance wise, its the cheapest route imo

those cards scale really well in xfire

If you're getting the 2nd 5770 for next to nothing then yes.

You'll only be missing around 10-15% overall performance from running the 2 cards at x16+x4 compared to x16+x16.

Still better than a single 5770 if the game scales well with crossfire.

Well the games will be

BF3, WoW which I play at the moment, and Guildwars 2 when released.

i dont think 4x is going to cripple that card much if at all, maybe if it was a more high end graphic card, and if i can play bf3 on ultra settings at 1920x1080 with a 5870 then you will with xfire

2x5770 for BF3 is ok.
I'm running 1680 with high preset. Get 35-70fps (big range :p but normaly in the 50s) it's certainly very playable though

If by next to nothing you're talking about £40 or so then i'd recommend selling your current card and getting a 6850. That asus card you linked above has voltage tweak so should easily clock to a stock 6870's performance which is roughly equal to a 5870 which again is roughly equal to 5770 crossfire, but without crossfire scaling issues.

However if you can get another 5770 for £20 or less it would be worth going for.
