CrossFireX 5770 or upgrade?

Thinking about a cheap upgrade. Current build has an old HD 5770 in it. I'm considering either getting a cheap second one off the 'bay to CrossFire it or getting something newer. Basically I'm trying not to spend much (~£10-20).
To be honest I don't have time to game much atm, but the new Total War is coming out and I want the shines...

For £10-20 if you can pair your card sure, I don't think you'll find any better performance gains for that kinda budget.

That was my thoughts exactly, I was flicking through ebay and saw one. I'll keep an eye on it

I recently upgraded from a crossfire 6770 & 5770 to a 7850. The 7850 is faster but not by as much as I hoped. Benchmark like Heaven showed zero improvement, 3DMark 'Firestrike' got an extra 1300pts, which is a lot (3400 > 4700) and Battlefield got a few frames too but nothing amazing.

I dont think you'd pick one up for as little as £10-20 unless extremely lucky.

i recently sold my two 5770's for about £70 so i think you may struggle to fine one for £10-£20. but i upgraded to a 7870xt and it has quite a lot more performance wise

If you can do it for sub-20, go for it!

I had crossfire 5770s, then a 5850, then 5850 crossfire.

As shown, the 5850 had better minimum frames, but pretty much the same top end performance.

Ok, cool. Yeah, basically I'm just going to keep an eye out and see what I can see. I'm in no need for the upgrade...but I've just got the itch.

Xfx Radeon 4890 within price range, and Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart shows that the 4890 and 5770 are comparable. Worth a shot?
