Has anyone with a stacker case invested in this fan (as an optional extra). I just wondered if it made much difference and how noisey it was?

I actually got one of these. And it has helped abit but i don't think it made a huge difference. It definitely lowers the temperatures on the motherboard and NB and you have about 3 settings to choose from ranging from silent to a mild hum. Controlled by a small PCI slot type card.

On a sidenote, i have been refitting my watercooling kit and after taking the right hand door off i have realised its totally blocked with dust.. So the crossflow is definitely pulling some air in through the side of the case. I cant remember how much i paid, but i think it was about £20 and i still think it was worth it.:)

I've got one as well, and pretty much agree with what Kingpin said. It's a shame the side grille doesn't have a dust filter, so you may be better off investing in one or two 4-in-3 modules and fitting some decent fans to them, if you haven't already. Plus it's no good if you've got extra-long video cards, but I assume you already know the situation there :).

I think i'm going to have to create some sort of dust filter as it was throwing loads in which was in turn blocking my rad! Haha! I had only checked it today 6 months after i installed it an couldnt believe how much it had built up on the side panel. I'll carry on using it though as it is good at what its supposed to do. The 4-in-3 modules sound like a good idea though.

Thanks for the replies, going to start hunting for one now. Seem them for about £20 like you said.

I have already got a couple of 4 in 3 modules, just thought i would get this too!

Found that it i snapped of the metal plate off the front of the 4 in 3 modules i could still fit some 120mm fans to them and the airflow is much better, made a big difference.

Also if you search on a well known auction site using this text ' Dust filter - specify the size YOU want! ' you may come across a guy who seems to cut out whatever size filter you need. Never seen it before!

please edit this if it breaks the rules!

Only works for the older model stacker the one with dual PSU layout. Won't fit Stacker 810, which I have. Got three 4 in 3 moudles also. Yup I remove the three stamped plates from behind the fan, then use a couple of washers in place of the fan guard, which you don't need.
