Hello there,

I am just wondering if I would be able to crossfire my ddr3 3870 with a ddr4 3870xt? I currently have the gigabyte 3870 and was going to crossfire this with OCUK 3870xt.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds good, will just get me another one and then all will be good :D, dunno why I want another, don't even game that much but want something to play with :D

Cheers LoadsaMoney

Wait - do you mean the 3870 X2 (which have GDDR3 as standard)? 'Cause I thought all the single 3870(/ XT)'s had GDDR4, which every site and product page I've seen also seems to reflect...

Or have I missed something important? :P

There were two dirrerent 3807's created by gigabyte one had ddr3 with tighter timings and the other had ddr4 I was stupid enough not to check when buying and be shipped one with ddr3...

I don't see the problem... if the memory is good it should perform pretty damn good with DDR3 anyway, maybe better given the timings (if tighter than the 3850's timings).

Ati has dropped the "XT" and "Pro" suffixes from their cards now, so it's just "3850" and "3870" any changes to the card will be listed like, if it's a 3850 with more ram it will be a 3850 512MB :), so no need worrying if it will work or not :p
