Hi,

This summer a friend and I will be california, and we and hope to cross the Mexican border to have a Corona or two in Tijuana.

Does anyone know what a UK citizen requires to cross into Mexcio from the US, and almost more importantly to cross back (tunnels excluded)?

From doing some reading it seems like US citizens can cross for a period of 72 hours with no hassle, if they do not go beyond 26 miles past the border, but there doesn't seem to be anything of relevanvce to non US people.

I just needed my passport to be checked and stamped and that was pretty much it. Although that was about 6 years ago.

IIRC I didn't need any special pre-filled forms or anything.

Yeah, I did exactly as you're planning to do and it was almost too easy! Although, that was pre 9/11 so things are probably a bit tighter now.

On a side note - I wouldn't bother. Tijuana is an absolute armpit and full of dodgy tourist praying weirdos. I didn't even get my passport stamped....just not worth it, except to say "I've been to Mexico" :)

You should be good with just a passport and a winning smile.

Hope you have a good trip :)

The fake Taco Bell was good, as were the Churro sellers.

Tequila is cheap.

Just need your good ol' British passport, gets you anywhere :)

All the Mexicans will assume you're American, but tell them you're English and they become more friendly :)

Beware though, around the border is a dodgy place from what I've heard....I'd get a cheap flight to Cancun tbh (got a month here, it's awesome)

True, any bits I've seen near the boarder has been dodgy looking enough. But never been at the California border so it may be different but more than likely not.
