CRT monitor on the way out?

Hi, I have an LG F700p flatron CRT monitor.

In the last couple of weeks it's started clicking from inside every now and again.

A friend of mine has suggested it could be the monitors PSU failing and it could go pop tonight, or last another 10 years! Does this sound feasable?

It's still inside it's 3 year guarantee so I'm considering getting it swapped out to be on the safe side.

Does it sound like a small electrical arcing. Like static almost?

kind of yeah. it's like a little crack or click noise. sometimes 2 or 3 right quick.
