CRT MONITOR

Of course you can - Ebay is your friend. Anything with the last Mitsubishi Diamondtron tubes should do 160hz vertical refresh. Delivery is likely going to cost more than the monitor though..

^ Shouldn't do, if refresh is set high enough

Also interested in why the OP needs 160hz :)

It's only CS:GO players who want this haha. One of them once said to me that 120hz on a crt is faster than 120hz on any modern panel.....

Whilst I can't argue about the input latency the refresh rate simply is no different and I'd rather not get eye cancer from a crt for that 1/50th of a millisecond advantage :D

Happy to be stood corrected though :)

i'm on 200hz @ 800x600. on ilyama 454. I'm really serious about it being a lot faster then normal 144hz monitors. The screen feels more fluid and responsive at LOWER hertz then the LCDs

That is going to be the case unless you use an LCD with ULMB mode. Its the motion blur that you are seeing on the LCDs that make them seem not as crisp and fluid. ULMB basically stobes the backlight of the LCD to mimic a CRT sort of.

I could barely give away my Iiyama VM 454 about 9 years ago, I can't believe anyone would want one now! It was great in it's day, and though I appreciate maybe others can see the refresh differences better than I, I can't understand why someone would want a desk bending monster in this day in age. Not to mention the headaches :D

I still have my Iiyama but colours are bit meh on it now. Got it in maybe 2001 but it wasn't the top end VM so 'only' does 120Hz I think at low res

1600x1200 75Hz 19" :P
