CRT size compared to LCD

Ok, right now I'm running 2 x 21" CRT's. My desk is straining under the weight, so I'd like to change one of 'em to an LCD.

Now, even tho my CRT's claim to be 21", If I measure from one corner of the glass to the other, the size of the glass is 20".

Now, are LCD's like this also? Or if I buy a 20" LCD will it actually have 20" of desktop.

I'd like the LCD to be the same size as my CRT's, as I want to carry on with dual monitor.

I don't think you lose the 1" with an LCD display.

With CRTs the size quoted is the 'tube size' not the visible screen size. 20" LCD will be the same size as your 21" CRTs.

Ahh, nice. Looks like I'll be ordering a 20" then.
