Hi. i ve currently got 1gb of the Geil Value ram (2x 512), and im keen to double that this weekend. Ideally id buy another gb of the same stuff but you cant buy a gig in a single stick seperately.

So i was wondering if anyone can confirm that the Crucial 1GB DDR PC3200 CAS3 (currently on offer this week) would work happily alongside what i already have.

You can buy a gig single stick, they used to sell them here.
Anyway, it should run fine but note this:

You will lose dual channel RAM performance, with all sticks defaulting to single channel.
The CAS3 of the single stick will bring the 2 sticks of geil value down to CAS3 from CAS 2.5 (you can only operate as fast as the slowest stick)

So basically whatever the timings of the 1GB stick are, will now be the timings of the geil value.

Much better to sell your current sticks and buy a dual channel kit of 2GB.
