I replaced my Ballistix under guarantee. I now have the identical sticks I bought installed cause I didn't want to be without my PC (not even for 3 days + thought I might try 4Gb).

These sticks are doing the same thing. What was happening was Battlefield 2 was crashing after a couple of hours play. Now I play project reality and it crashes after loading the 3rd map.

First set was clocked to something like 1150Mhz 555 18.

Replacement was stock (had to up timings) 800Mhz 444 12. Then I got crashes so I went to 800Mhz 555 18. This is with 2.1v or so volts (stock volts for this ram).

So it seems like its either unreliable ram or maybe its not the ram at all but my CPU or motherboard.

However I get the impression that the RAM degrades since it takes a while till I start noticing crashes (only after playing non-stop for a few hours) whereas at first it looks like the last change made it stable.

So now with 4Gb kit at £37 odd, I'm thinking it could be time to try out some different ram.

It might just be an issue with the RAM and my board (p35 DQ6 gigabyte). CPU is e2160 @ 3Ghz.

Im on a 32-bit OS atm but I would still get 3.5Gb ram.

Do u think I would be stable if I got different ram?:(

Edit: I really should update my specs (in sig), I've upgraded from opteron yonks ago.

Ballistix is infamous for dying. I don't think anyone would recommend buying it any more.

Definately buy something different and sell the RMA replacements when you get them back from Crucial again.
