Crucial Ballistix 2GB ok for an ASUS P5B Deluxe?

Hi,

would this RAM run ok on an ASUS P5B Deluxe WIFI?

A 1 GB sticks has just died and it is cheaper to buy this than replace the dead one. Plus I think this is better quality kit. The RAM I'am replacing is Kingston Hyper X 1gb 8500 1066mhz.

Ballistix do great on P5B boards....I had 2 sets of 5300s doing almost 1200mhz

sweet! will get them bad boys purchased tommo then when I get some dollar in my bank. Been a long old month has january.

What voltage should they be run at 2.2v?

Hi mate
try it at 1.9/ 1.95 vdimm ,because the ram last longer that way

and DDR2 8500 will not be overclocked at all in that board ( unless you put the fsb above 533 mhz at 1:1

) so probably it do not need the full 2.2V to be perfectly stable

Hi Mate,

thanks for your info will take that onboard. I won't be doing much overclocking to be honest. So will be happy with the stock speed for the mo.
