Crucial ending production of all Ballistix RAM.

A very puzzling move. Crucial Ballistix RAM was some of the best DDR 4 RAM you could get (with great low profile and extremely well made heatsinks), Crucial had hit on a winning formula after years in the doldrums and now they abandon it? If they weren't making enough money then charge a little bit more, don't get rid of it.

As stated, I think the issue was more to do with the fact that Crucial exclusively uses Micron Memory (it's a Micron sub-brand), and they are struggling to hit the same DDR5 speeds as the other manufacturers. Rather than promoting relatively subpar/slower memory compared to the competition; they'd prefer to retire the Ballistix brand for now, rather than risking tarring public perception of Ballistix; and just produce memory under the wider Crucial brand, which has a more general purpose audience. Then, once they have managed to improve DDR5, the option is always there to bring the Ballistix brand back.

Sometimes it is better to retire a sub-brand than forever tarnish the reputation/perception of the brand. Perfect example; AMD STILL have a reputation for worse drivers than Nvidia, despite largely dealing with the issues years ago at this point.

I hope you are right and that's all it is and it isn't just another foolish corporate decision.
