It is quite a fun premise - I'd find it entertaining if done OK even if only as good/bad as the original. I'm not sure there is enough there to make a TV series of it though.

Almost 25 years since the film came out so it could be the typical "we need to do something or we lose the rights" reason for this series.

Or there's no creativity left I suppose

It used to be that they would remake things because they could do the effects and cgi etc much better.

Only watched 2/3rds of episode 1 so far but agree with the reviewers so far - it apes but is kind of mindless - lacking the sharpness and edge of the originals.

Pity, I thought the film was brilliant, also Sarah Michelle Gellar…..

Plenty of other thinks to watch on the streaming channels, might see if this gets a S2 or if it’s a one and done.
