Cruise Control....what do you do....

Stick it somewhere comfortable.

I prefer to rest it somewhere out of the way so I can get it back on the pedals ASAP if required. Tempting as it is to put your feet up on the dash it's not great for safety (or the dash!).

I actually realised I was sat cross legged when using dads cruise control on the mondy on the way back from london the other day, instantly the cruise got turned off and I started using my feet !

If the road is dead clear then I'll put mine on the floor, if there is traffic around then I tend to hover my foot!

Ditto, although there's room next to the accelerator for my foot so it goes there.

lmao at some of the replies :)
I tend to plant my foot on the floor too, gotta say I usually feel a bit uncomfortable and wary when passing other cars due to the extra reaction time it would take.

On a side note - does anyone find that cruise control increases mpg significantly?

I do the Lotus position

I agree. Extensive use of cruise control increases my mpg quite noticeably :)

I imagine it's down to the fact you're not slowly accelerating by a small amount all the time, only applying the power necessary to keep you at a steady speed. In cases where you might "put a little power on", you'll keep at the same speed, and so this adds up to quite a fuel saving.

Only if you set it low and don't have to turn it off.

Sounds strange but I'll quite happily set it to 70 on a quiet motorway and cruise home, changing lanes only to pass the odd wagon or let someone on at a junction. When there's too much traffic to use it driving at 70 and swapping lanes all the time is too much like hard work so its into the outside lane and go as fast as is safely possible.
