I'd be surprised if it wasn't already - at least an RC. Ubuntu Studio 9.10 is out (i think) and Mint 8 RC is out so it shouldn't take them to long...

The forums seem to imply a month or two; it's only one guy who does it I think, so it tends to take him a little while.
