Hi folks,
I picked up Crusader Kings 2 a while ago, and struggled to get into it, primarily due to not having long play sessions available to learn the game.
It seems like the sort of thing that is right up my street, so I have just reinstalled the game and am looking for some pointers.
I am starting in 1066, and have selected the county of Dublin to play as, with the following self generated objectives:
1 - Establish The Kingdom of Ireland (short term)
2 - Gain prestige and piety by crusading (ongoing)
3 - Establish the Empire of Britannia (long term)
I know the game will be slow to start with, the things I need help with are:
Money. Is there something I should be doing to raise money quickly at the beginning of the game other than raising taxes?
Demesne. My Demesne size starts as a max of 3. I am prioritising Legalism to raise this. How to I grant titles to my sons whilst keeping the county I grant them under my control? Can I grant them a lesser title?
Marriage. I am really struggling to use the character sorter effectively. I use the filters at the top, but most of the women I find to marry usually come with a penalty of -200 to something (don't know what - opinion?)
Inviting people to court. Same problem as marriage.
Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer on the above or anything else you think I should know about. I am sure I will really enjoy this game once I learn the ins and outs, I don't think the tutorial or manual do a good enough job.
