Hi all, i've just made a video that basically is aimed towards taking the **** out of all the people that are constantly arguing that crysis 1 is much better than 2, so i made most things that happen in crysis 2 dull and generally rubbish, and tried to make crysis 1 look better, don't know if i have done this or not and the video might be a bit crap but it was my first real go at using sony Vegas so who cares? anyway here it is


i would recommend checking it out on youtube as you wont be able to see the video properly on here due to it being small :D

so how crap do you think it is?

It looks to me like you have picked the worst possible comparisons to make crysis 2 look better, I prefer crysis 2 but crysis 1 is a million times better than you made it look,

In your destruction test you only showed the couple of bad physics props in crysis 1, why no nades/rpg into houses? Yet on crysis 2 you used special suit abilities instead of the comparable pistol and used explosive crates at the end?

In the water effects test why did you pick the crappy wet box for crysis 1 and not show the huge open ocean or any of the waterfalls etc yet you showed the sub completely filled with water for the crysis 2 test?

IMO the facial animations were the only fair test and they both looked pretty much the same

Silly biased video that would have had credibility if done properly

lol ;P this aint a serious video lmao, just got bored and wanted to see how much of an awful :D video i could make :)
 
Meh, if your really vein it's not even arguable about which game looks better the fact is Crysis 2's textures have less detail then it's predecessor as shown in this direct comparison where a hacker extracted the Crysis 1 textures and plonked them into Crysis 2 and hey presto the resolution dropped - link.

Graphics aside I enjoyed the first game and really enjoyed playing Warhead and from what I've seen from the sequel it looks just as fun if not better.
 
i've played both, recently in fact, and i still prefer crysis 1, gameplay, visiuals et al, it's just a better game. crysis 2 is complete tosh, looks nice, plays crap and is boring. end of imo

I find it funny when people on forums all over the net are arguing about crysis 2 and its graphics. I always read peoples comments, there's like a massive debate going on at moment.

I quite liked crysis 2 myself and thought the gameplay was better then first, but the graphics could have been better.

Sucks that they made the game to work on consoles too, I dont care about people that play FPS on consoles, in my opinion if you play FPS on consoles your a complete newbie lol, FPS is for keyboard and mouse, end of! no discusion needed lol!!!

lol after a lifetime of playing FPS on PC, can you even imagine trying with a joypad? that would just be insanely ridiculous.

Well to sum up, it seems to me that somebody just needs to release an addon for crysis 2 with high res textures.

Also would be good if crytek release a patch for crysis 2 to make graphics better.
 
I've only just bought Crysis Maximus Edition a few days after Crysis 2. I don't sit and analyze the game but to me both look stunning.

I'm really enjoying Crysis more at the moment due to all the jungle stuff. Gives me that Far Cry feeling that I really should reinstall some day to complete it. I love the commando feel to Crysis, ducking and diving through bushes, trees, rocks etc rather than hiding in sewers, behind dustbins, cars, walls, alleys and all that.

I must say though Crysis still looks sharp and smooth lines even with no AA at 1920x1200.

Since I've only bought both recently I love the whole experience in both titles.
 
I agree, jungle over city ***!

Maybe with Crysis 3 they could do it in a jungle again...you might think whats point or why would they, but on earth we have different jungle/forrest that look different and have different plants/animals trees/weather etc so they could make a jungle in a different location that looked really good.

I think they did a good job of all the weapons in the game for crysis 2, I think they're better then first ones, and I like the customization for each weapon.

All the powers are better and the whole interface has been revamped.

I was really loving crysis 2 for first 10 hours but kinda bored now.
 
In my view crysis 1 is technically better but crysis 2 is better looking but not as great technically.

Crysis 1 - Much better technical achievement, technically better graphics

Crysis 2 - Prettier colour palette and more vivid graphics

If you compare 1 and 2, 1 looks very washed out in comparison.
 
Thing is it doesn't actually matter which is better or worse graphically on a top notch rig because there'll be a bunch of people queuing up to argue that it is worse than Crysis 1 on every level purely because it was also released on a console. Quite sad.
