Looking at maybe dropping £500 on a card or, some cards for mining, whats the best for Cryptonite currently?

I believe the 1070 or rx580 are the best value for performance

I am better off with a single card or 2/3, depending on funds that is, the £500 is semi flexible atm.

On CryptoNight based coin, a single RX Vega is better then 2/3 other cards. As a example once tweaked it should net around 1800/2000 H/s where as my 1080Ti can only muster 960 H/s, while using less power.

If its Ethereum based with RX Vega you can get up to 40 + H/s, I know my 1080 Ti runs around 35 to 38H/s on this.

A reference 56 was good value at the black friday/EOL fire sale. I'm not sure I'd be willing to part with whatever ridiculous price the AIB cards will be. They're beasts at CryptoNight, but a bit of a one trick pony. Some of the Nv cards are more a jack of all trades and lend themselves well to switching algos should something either drop/take off.

I will literally be using it for mining.
Once thats fizzled out it'll be replacing my old GPU in my rig, R9-270x at the mo, so while it might be a one trick pony it'll certainly be faster than that lol

Having done a bit more reading I think the Vega 56 is the winner, unless I can get cheaper cards that'll do 1/4 the speed for 1/4 the cost each and then spread them out over 2/3 rigs..

I know it's the GPU forum, but you're asking about hash rates so naturally the Crypto guys will be better placed to answer that. The majority of the people using this section will use their GPU's for, believe it or not, gaming... however the Crypto section is 100% ... Crypto.

The best card for Cryptonight currently is Vega, no other card can touch it, it doesn't matter which Vega as they all perform the same when tuned, the only difference is the Vega 56 is cheaper than the 64 and FE plus it consumes less power. They are kind of hard to find in stock atm though due to the reference/AIB switchover and mining demand eviscerating stock.

Yeah trying to find a 56 at the mo, at this rate might just end up sticking the money straight into crypto directly :/
