Looks good, but the way I'm reading it it would only work for people who had already been infected at the point they managed to get hold of the database, not for any future infections?

Correct, as they said they just got lucky on finding this database.

A lot of people probably already deleted the locked file after they were locked out of it permanently though!

Never know, might be able to brute force just before you die so you can view your selfie's from 2014
