Crysis 1 close programs to prevent information loss

a friend is playing this game at the moment and getting a error message windows! close programs to prevent information loss,your computer is low on memory save your file and close program....crysis 1

his spec is i7950....sabertooth x58 board...6gb memory...ati 5970 graphics

anyone got any ideas thanks.

think we have sorted it he had disabled his virtual memory...just testing now .... yes that was the problem he had no virtual memory.

This hasppened to me and I hadn't disabled my pagefile. I had it running full settings and for some reason it was using all the memory.
Anyway I bought some more the other day and now its running fine.
I did have my pagefile on my mechanical drive (1tb f3) and it was stressing like crazy on the intensive bits and making the game stutter lol. Changing the pagefile to the SSD solved that (this was before I bought the extra memory though).
All this never happened until I installed kaspersky aswell so I don't know whether it was kaspersky that changed some settings or its just that kaspersky uses a lot of resources.
