crysis 2 and Nvidia gpus

So i downloaded the advanced graphics for crysis 2 and been running it with my gtx480.

Im getting up to 76 degrees with a geild icy vision rev 2.

What temps are you getting and what card?

Just curiours guys lol

I never did own one of the GTX 4## series cards, but from what i could gather from what was said about the GTX 480 particularly is that its a toaster.

They do apparently run hot, really hot.

I used to get around the 80's mark before i changed the cooler, i dont know how long to hold onto it for, its so dam hot at stock.

Think its time to sell up and get a non refrence 680

I played it modded recently, and hit temps around what the OP mentioned (maybe very slightly higher - windforce cooler). I think it would have been even higher in my old case, possibly around the low 80's. The main advantage I have now is that I can run two fan speed profiles below what I was before, and have lower temperatures.

1920x1200 60fps pretty solid 59c gfx card 40c motherboard max temps

Same case (advance version modified) 680 ref (modified exhaust)

You went the wrong direction removing the reference cooler, get the case working first, they are useless std with that HD rack blocking the front fan + add a 140 fan to the bottom and you will need an additional extractor top rear.

note, Fans must always be on case extremities hanging them in mid air does nothing but stir up air flow.

Fix the case and i'll tell you how to fix the card

Add a fan to side-panel as exhaust if you can...anyone that has a "dump heat into case" type graphic cooler should do this, provided that their case has a fan mount there...
