crysis 2 black screen.

hello all

i have just started playing my system.

using an sapphire 7870 ghz ed.

after playing crysis for about 10 minutes a black screen appeared and locked the computer.

please someone help

might be better games tbh or vga section?

as you may get a better answer from a different set of people.

for me it could be a conflict, a driver issue or a game update needed, could be anything tbh so the list could grow, would need a lot more info for a better answer

everything was on ultra but playing at 1080p on 42" tv

on what cpu and how much memory installed and what o/s?

any errors before this one? o/s related, what you got running also with the game in your startup etc

Questions incoming:

Is this the first time its happened? Did it give you any error codes?... If you were to play it again now would it do the same? Is your system overclocked? Problems with any others games on the PC?

Just trying to narrow down the billions of potential problems

i5 3750k
corsair veng 8gb low profile
z77x-d3h
windows 7

not overclocked.

its the first time its happened and there was no warning.

i have not tired any other games.

knock it down to medium and see if it stays on, sounds like it cant handle that res on ultra to me, then if it does just keep altering it until it fails

Indeed, dial down the graphics abit.. may of just been abit much for the pc.. or maybe something Overheated.

Either way, to find out more information you need to replicate it again. Get playing

If it continues to happen, have a look through things like your event logs and see whats going on
