Crysis 2 Performance Issues - What a Surprise

Got Crysis 2 through today, whacked the settings on Extreme at 2048x1152 and my framerates are pretty pants. Getting between 20-30fps outdoors (usually low 20s) and occasional hangs of about 3-5 seconds...

Does anyone have a link to the graphics settings mod I saw knocking about a while back? GPU drivers are up to date and game's fully patched, not sure what the issue could be?

Well from what I've heard, the game's supposed to run smooth as butter on lower end rigs than mine... if that isn't the case, fair enough :). Does anyone know where I can find the settings config program?

You can try mine! (If you do decide to use it, you need to go to the desktop when you run it since you need to find your install directory when you start it first.)

https://sourceforge.net/projects/crysis2graphics/files/application/CrysisModApp.exe/download

Or the one everyone else uses >_>

Doesn't sound right really, I'm pretty sure Crysis 2 is totally GPU limited so you processor shouldn't really be holding you back at all.

If I remember correctly I was getting 45-60fps with everything maxed and 4xaa on my 570 at 1920x1200.

Cheers for that, I've turned the motion blur and ridiculous bloom down, seems to have made quite a big difference... I think motion blur's quite CPU intensive if I remember rightly, so that might be the issue.

Hmm, I'd imagine that your processor is bottlenecking that GTX570. Maybe time for an upgrade? ;)
You have got a pretty big bottleneck in that E6400.

Yeah, I really should've waited before buying the 570 :D

Trying to hold out til October, just in time for Battlefield 3. The Sandybridge upgrade's gonna cost a fortune and there's no way I can afford it right now

Did you use mine?

Because it would be good to know mine works properly. :p

I did indeed :D

I turned off motion blur completely but I still get constant blur on my weapon and from character movements... seems to have improved performance anyway though, even with 4xSSAA.

I think I'm close to completing it now... honestly, I don't get any of the hate for this game. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay's awesome, haven't enjoyed a game this much in ages.

No chance. I can't even get it stable at 3.2... the fan starts making a racket too so I've kept it at 3.0 for a while

A lot of it is to do with the MP I think. And how it compares to Crysis 1.
I never played the first much, and I have been rather enjoying the MP so meh. My only gripe is not enough servers :p

Thanks, good to know it works properly.
