So I installed my 6950, also sorted out my cooling in my system (I hope...took an hour) FPS in crysis 2. I have everything max at 1080p (doesnt go above that on the options?) and in tunnels and rooms, It's about 140 fps. spikes at 200, sometimes around 90. When theres plenty of action, lowest I have had is about 67....

Curious though, should I be aiming for more? Im not an FPS freek or anything. As anything above 30 Im happy with. Temps when games fully loaded. GPU @ 62c. CPU @ 45c

Hmm some tunnels its 70-90 fps, the odd few are 100fps +

Also yeah its set to hardcore. As for High res pack, theres no option in the game :/

Have you played the original Crysis and Warhead? They will tax your system, and IMO, are better shooters (esp Crysis 1)

I have not sadly. The only 2 games I own that would 'test' this setup is Crysis2 and The Witcher 2.

Any games you suggest, besides warhead?

P.S I thought cpu was stressed on Crysis2?

You have pretty much the same setup as me, i5 [email protected] and a 2gb 6950, 8gb@1600mhz. To be honest not much taxes these systems. Crysis does tax it, also GTA 4 does as well, even though you will be able to max it out it will run at about 50fps+ totally maxed. Metro 2033 is pretty good as well

I have to echo the Crysis 1 suggestion. Only Metro 2033 hits systems harder. It's only because of the sheer number of foliage and trees though - it's not actually all that nice looking compared to the last couple of years.

This is why I moved to PC gaming, mods and such. But I have no idea where to find them to be honest. GTA4 with mods looks amazing, then I ask myself, where do I download it? Same with elder scrolls 4, till I read how much you had to do...well put off :)

ive seen my fps as low as in the 40's with 6950 2gb xfire and 2500k at 4.5 gig at 1080p. is this normal?

Without the DX11 patch and High-res installed, I get around 40-50fps on my 2500k and 6950 2Gb at 1920x1080 on the "Ultra" preset.

Didn't they remove the Hardcore and other presets and replace them with High, Very High, Extreme and Ultra?
