So I came across the promotion on facebook - looks like it starts November 2nd at 8am anyone else looking forward to trying it out ? I just want to see how good it looks probably will be the best looking game I've played even at it's current level of quality. Or am I being overly optimistic on what this alpha will deliver.

Looks like you can preload the alpha starting at 8am today :) so 30 minutes away

It is the Alpha so no money lost ;) I never did get Crysis 2 but I have the original which still looks stunning to this day. I did hear about the delayed DX11 textures etc for that game but I believe it's back to how it was with Crysis for this game ? as I've heard them showing off the amount of muscle needed in earlier interviews.

Ah sorry, fair enough if its free. I’l still pass tbh, since EA are single handily killing the meaning of PC gaming I point blank refuse to buy anything to put out.

They release a game called FIFA... so erm yeah they'll always get £80 off me at least every year because of that. How are they killing the meaning of PC Gaming ? if anything I'm hoping they bring more of their franchises over like Madden/NHL/Tiger Woods to the origin store at some point. If you could elaborate so I understand your stance against them.
 
really don't get why you UK people get everything....google nexus 4/10 etc...other countries can just dream...where is logic?

And if only they could stick to those games.

My problem with EA is they release rubbish non community supported games. All their FPS games are cheap and nasty thrills. Look at how great the likes of 1942, BF2, 2142 were… EA have pushed DICE to release games with no sandbox, no competitive features while pumping sequels out a few times a year to keep a steady flow of cash from the gullible. This has constantly divided communities & clans because nobody can stick to one game. So yeah EA single handily killing PC gaming.

My clan have tried to compete in BF3 and as you can see in my sig done relatively well. BF3 has now been pulled from i-series “Due to no free cam”. Simply put - No competitive aspect no community drive! EA/DICE know this and s why they never patched it in… despite the community hacking and showing it can be done.

I remember when I fist came to OCUK, there were loads of thriving clans and I could name 10 – 15 large clans. Now there are maybe 2 – 3. This is because big publishers (mainly EA & COD franchise) design games to have a small shelve life so they can shove DLC and sequels down our neck every few months!

Just remember “EA” were not voted the worst company in America for nothing…. Wake up and smell the roses pal!

Already got an Alpha key from one of the guys at Crytek. Interesting to see them distributing 5000 keys to it though!
 
Ill wait to see how it plays / looks first before wasting my time registering. Guessing another terrible port instead of the masterpiece that was Crysis 1 (and Farcry)
