Long flowing grass.

I don't see a 580 'struggling' to play, scaling down the options was still a great looking game when I tried out the beta for actual IQ difference.

As shown by the Crysis2 mods, the original Crysis2 had poor textures and lazy modelling of things like leaves for example. So,Crysis3 is probably what Crysis2 should have been.

One person,in their spare time has done better than Crytek with paid people.

True, though we need to remember that he didn't design the game / engine from the ground up. :)

I would also like to know how well an overclocked 7970 does at 1080p max settings.

I'm thinking of buying one in a few weeks :)

To be honest, it's just built on CryEngine3, how different can it be to Crysis 2, it's the same engine.

I've been playin 2 maxed on on my spec with 40-55fps no problem.

When Crysis 2 released it was missing anything to do with DX11. It performed really well but as soon as the DX11 stuff was all installed it really took some power to get it shifting.

The most notable upgrade in DX11 was the depth of things like pointing in bricks and track marks left in the roads.

After Crysis was released it was ****ged off for running so poorly, even on the highest end hardware. To stop this happening again they cut Crysis 2 down quite badly so that it would perform well.

Crysis 3 by all accounts and from what I have been reading is the blue milk of games. All of the full fat goodness has been left in and it will have people rushing out to buy new hardware so that they can turn it all on.

Crysis : Warhead was also quite heavily cut down. The enemy numbers were reduced as was stuff like the length of the blades of grass ETC and it ran much smoother than the original.

Those with a keen eye though could definitely spot the reduction of detail :)

OK just booted up Crysis 3 with max settings and TXAA High, 15 fps at 1440p on 680 SLI. Dropped AA down to SMAA and got 30 fps. AA off and got 45 fps.

This is all on the first level.

It uses 99% of both my cards. I put shading, shadows and particles down from very high to high and now I get 60 fps. This game is a beast.

This game is not a beast, it runs on xbox 360 7 years old hardware.

It is easy to allow users to change the game config to make the game unplayable. There won't be great visual improvement though. You only get a real visual improvement with a new engine, new game, new technology. Not by cranking up settings. That on;y makes minor cosmetic difference.

Some people are satisfied when they can run a game at maximum settings. Other people are satisfied when they play a game that actually looks pretty.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

How about you go and look up the Samaritan tech demo.
