Crysis - 320/640mb 8800GTS?

Hey chaps,

Just a very quick question,

I just am after opinions really, i know Crysis isnt out yet so we all dont know exactly specs etc etc but I game at 1680x1050 and wanted to know your opinion on how much ram I should aim for when buying a new graphics card?
(I know u go by gpu over ram and ram is not so important but at my res im sure its a larger factor to take into account)

(Btw, I have thought any 2900xt being 512mb would be fine to game on the likes of at 1680x1050 with so in my 'Wanted' post I have kept my options there open also).
 
For that resolution, i would go for the 640mb for Crysis. I can play the beta fine on my 320mb at 1280x1024 on full and 4xAA. But any higher would probably slow it down. Mind you, its still a beta and poorly optimized. I'd wait till the singleplayer demo comes out before buying.
 
Thanks for the reply mate, I have to decide pretty much straight away tbh. I have been offered £100 for my X1900XT and I dont want to miss that offer tbh :)

So far I am leaning towards the 640 then, Be nice to hear other peoples opinions also :)

They'll be opening the beta again. They have 3 more batches.
The first batch is almost exclusively VIP only but they did give Fileplanet a very limited amount and they were made available to founder members only. I think the next batches will be larger.

Great game though. With high settings, 1680x1050 and 8x AA, it really stresses my GTX.
